Asset Allocation : Initial Report

Initially, when we review a new client's investments, we generally find they include a 'mixed bag' of financial products, which have been bought over an extended period of time… frequently in response to a salesman, advertisement, or a particular event in their lives. For example: the purchase of a house, in response to changes in taxation, the setting up of a business, or perhaps joining an employers pension scheme.

Yet, most of us very rarely take the opportunity to properly scrutinise our financial affairs and to ensure that decisions made in the past have actually achieved what we originally intended. The products we have bought frequently contain language which can confuse and often there is no satisfactory way of even asking questions.

The Argyle process begins here by reviewing ALL of the financial products in your portfolio. We obtain up-to-date valuations and establish your attitude to risk, along with your long term financial objectives.

Our next step is to determine an appropriate Asset Allocation. The information gathered is then placed into a Portfolio Investment Model on our computer system. This model was developed by Tillinghurst-Towers Perrin, a highly respected global actuarial consultancy and provides Argyle with access to a wide range of sophisticated investment techniques.

The system ultimately generates an Asset Allocation for all of a client's money, along with a co-ordinated investment strategy designed to meet your investment objectives, within your acceptable levels of risk.

Next we need to find appropriate funds to match the Asset Classes and the details of this Fund selection process are explained within a separate section on this website.

Our new recommendations are incorporated into a Report which is presented to the client for consideration and approval. We try to make these Reports as 'user friendly' as possible and include references to :-

  • The Client's current situation, attitude towards risk, investment objectives and timescales.
  • The recommended Asset Allocation and how it is has been calculated.
  • Details of our Fund Selection process.
  • Information regarding our charges.
  • Individual fact sheets for all of our recommended funds.
