Going for Gold

Sport may not be everyone’s cup of tea but the fantastic success of Team GB at the Beijing Olympics has surely given us all a much needed feel good factor. Most of you know our Director Phil Melville has been a lifelong cyclist and the incredible performance of the British Cycling team has seen him with a permanent grin over the last two weeks.

Thank you all for the prompt response to our recent adjustment to your portfolio. We have already been able to see more stability in the portfolios as we continue to experience extreme volatility in the World markets. We will be closely monitoring our fund recommendations ahead of the next quarterly review to ensure that you get the best possible returns with your investments.

The talk in our office lately has been about Global warming and how, if it ever arrives, that it would make a nice change from the Noah’s Ark summer rain falling on us. All in all we have decided that at the moment with the weather, credit crunches, governments and banks it is a good time to pull up the duvet and ignore the outside world for a while.

Inflation is creeping up once more although interest rates are not. We think this presents a reminder to check whether our finances are going to be able to meet our future expectations. As prices rise we get less for our pounds. Sounds obvious but it is worthwhile making sure we understand and are comfortable with the way our financial plans are developing.
