During these turbulent times it is almost impossible to ignore the latest piece of doom-laden news. However, we feel that now is also the right time to remind clients about some of the steadfast principles that underpin our business.
Although we pride ourselves on the extent of one-to-one service, it is important not to lose sight of the fact that overall management of your investments is very much an Argyle 'group' process and not reliant upon decisions made by one person.
Achieving optimum asset allocation is always of paramount importance and that was never more true than it is today. When we established your attitude to risk (and your long-term objectives) we created a Portfolio Investment Model using a system developed by Tillinghurst-Towers Perrin, a firm of highly respected, global actuaries.
For each asset class within your portfolio model we have established an Argyle Fund Panel and each of these panels comprises our 'preferred funds' which, in-turn, have been carefully selected by our research team using a wide variety of investment tools at their disposal.
As ours is a continuous review process, we also have a 'watch list' of funds. These are funds that possess the potential to be included on a particular panel… if and when we have cause to become concerned about a preferred fund.
A more detailed explanation of how we manage your investments can be found on our website. However, as previously mentioned, it is significant that every decision which Argyle makes on your behalf is based upon pooled research and our well established (and well proven) processes.
We never rely upon the views of a single individual, nor would we ever.
Heading-up the team are Directors Phil Melville and Jean MacIntyre, both of whom have been involved in Argyle since inception in 1983 and both of whom are still working full-time in the business, with a combined experience of more than 60 years. They are available to discuss any concerns or requirements you might have, as are all members of the team.
These are exceptionally difficult times, with markets plunging across the globe at alarming rates. We can not say how long it will take for this situation to stabilise, but we can assure you that we are actively monitoring the situation and will only make calm and informed recommendations regarding any future changes in your portfolio.
