Unbiased advice from Argyle

As the debate continues within the media and the financial services industry itself, concerning whether advisers such as Argyle should be paid via a commission from insurance companies, or directly by their clients via a fee, we felt this might be an opportune moment for us to outline our own position once again.
Since beginning our Wrap investment process Argyle have not taken a single penny of investment commission. We rely solely upon the annual charge which you pay us from your Transact Account. We do not charge an additional fee for conducting the annual review of your investments, nor do we charge when making any fund switches within your portfolio. This philosophy allows us to be truly independent and therefore, to make only those investment decisions which we believe will be in your very best interests.
The fact that your annual portfolio charge is taken as a percentage of your portfolio means that we share a mutual interest in growing your investments.
Our Wrap is provided by Transact who currently have in excess of £4 billion under management. It is this level of investment which enables them to negotiate significant discounts with the majority of leading fund managers. This in turn negates the traditional costs of buying and selling unit trusts. Every penny of this discount is passed onto you as an Argyle client and can be seen by you on the Transaction Listings page of your on-line account.
All in all, you can rest assured that you are buying your portfolio at the best possible price... no other UK adviser offers their clients better terms. An additional reduction in costs also becomes applicable if your portfolio grows above a certain size, for which we will include any related portfolio, typically one held by a spouse.
About our staff

Finally, on a more personal note, we thought you might like to know that one of our staff, Joanna Wright, is shortly expecting her first child and we all wish her well. Joanna will be away on maternity leave for a while but, in the meantime we have been joined by Graham Owers, who recently graduated in Financial Services from Sheffield University.
