More pension changes on the horizon
As we move into 2012 the Government is striving to make changes to many items of State expenditure, in their efforts to re-position UK plc as financially 'fit for purpose'.
One change likely to affect many clients is that, from 6th April, the Government is removing the option to contract-out of the State Second Pension (S2P) and changing how existing Protected Rights (the money which has already gone into your pension as a result of contracting-out) is treated.
Many of you who are either still working or have yet to drawdown your pension will be affected by this change and we therefore suggest that now is a very good time to review your individual pension arrangements… to see how you will be affected, whilst checking your retirement plans are still broadly on track.
Please get in touch and we will talk you through the changes and their impact on you personally.

| * Always ask for a glass of water. Why? Coffee or tea often comes in a cup and saucer. If you are at all nervous during the interview, the cup may rattle on the saucer – a glass of water doesn't. Also, spilt coffee or tea makes a lot of mess, water doesn't. And if you are asked a really awkward question
and you need some time to think, you can reach for the water, take a long sip and give yourself a few vital extra moments to think of a great answer. |
